Miner Corporation On Prestigious Top 50 Private Companies List
In a city with many prominent and successful businesses, for The Miner Corporation to be considered one of the Top 50 private companies in San Antonio is an achievement, said Philip T. Miner, the company’s founder and chairman.
The San Antonio Business Journal ranked Miner (now Miner Holding Company) no. 32 out of the 50 top private companies, which include notables such as USAA, Coldwell Banker and McCombs Enterprises.
Many of Miner’s own customers made the list as well. “When you look at who’s on the list, it’s a real honor to be included,” Miner said.
With $18.1 million in assets, Miner is listed in the revenue category of $50 million to $75 million. The top 50 companies were chosen based on revenue.
The award is given by the San Antonio Business Journal, along with the local office of Carneiro, Chumney & Co. L.C. and sponsors SWBC and Humana. The awards will be presented March 13 at the Oak Hills Country Club.
Philip T. Miner formed the Miner Corporation in 1994 with one simple goal: To help Fortune 500-class companies drive down costs on the warehousing and retail equipment they owned and improve jobsite safety. With over 8,000 customers, Miner serves household names like Wal-Mart, Toys “R” Us and CVS Pharmacy.
The firm has recently been restructured into three separately run businesses - Parent company Miner Holding Company, based in New Braunfels, Texas; its national and international service company Miner Fleet Management Group; and its regional distribution business The Miner Corporation, both in San Antonio. And The Miner Corporation has majority ownership in six regional companies: Miner Central Texas (also based in San Antonio); Miner El Paso; Miner Houston; Miner North Texas; Miner Southwest (based in Phoenix); and Miner Florida.
